An Internship Experience at Apogee

At Apogee IT Services, we recognize that tomorrow's leaders are today's students and graduates. We understand the importance of internship opportunities and want to continue to provide emerging young professionals with the exposure and experiences needed to begin considering professional career paths after graduation. 

Meet Tyler Berger. Tyler has been a Help Desk Intern at Apogee IT Services at our Toronto office for the past 4 months. He is currently a senior at  Technical College majoring in IT Network Administration. I had the pleasure of speaking with him the other day to learn more about his experience at Apogee and his plans after college.

How did I come across this internship? 

"My college did mock interviews for a class, and I was fortunate enough to get to have a mock interview with Mr. Paul Cronin, the CEO of Apogee IT Services. After the interview was over Paul invited me to take a tour of the company at their office. After the tour, Mr. Jake Rogers, the Vice President of Operations in mentioned that if we were interested in an internship position to contact him. Apogee offered what I was looking for in an internship, so I reached out."

What are my plans/goals after graduation? 

"I would like to stay in if I get offered a job around the area, but if not, I would like to move somewhere other than rural Pennsylvania.  When it comes to my job, I would like to find a position in a company where I can be a client support analyst. "

What type of experience have you gained from your internship with Apogee that will help you to grow in the future?

"I want to get a solid foundation in what an entry-level IT job consists of, along with gaining the experience to continue in this career field and become successful. In addition, working here at Apogee has helped me to learn more about specific software that enables us to deliver to ultimate client experience to our customers. "

What has my internship consisted of so far? 

"So far, I have worked with the help desk in Toronto creating tickets and answering calls. I am also part of the software installation team for Apogee which has allowed me to learn different parts of the organization. "

Why did you choose Apogee?

"After the tour and just meeting the employees even if it was just in passing, I knew that this was a fun place to work, and I could learn a lot from my coworkers that would help me further my education in IT. "
